About SINet
SINet is an open platform for LoRa-based satellite packet receiving and transmission. It is designed to support researchers and IoT enthusiasts in exploring sat-IoT technologies.
What is SINet?
Our project is a web application for visualizing and analyzing data from a LoRa-based satellite communication network. It allows users to monitor packets transmitted between ground stations and satellites. The client side provides a user-friendly interface with multiple pages for viewing data dashboards, detailed packet information, and interactive charts. The server side, built with Python and Flask, handles the application logic, manages the SQLite database, and provides API endpoints for the front-end visualizations. Key functions include user authentication, data filtering, and exporting results. For this project, the development roles will be divided between front-end and back-end responsibilities.
This concept refers to the paper in ACM IMC 2025. This webpage aims to visualize the data collected by the global ground stations for public.
SINet is a community that enables the reception of open satellite signals. Signals are received with stations built by the users themselves. The stations connect to a central server that collects the data and compares it with those received by other users to consolidate them, as the same transmission is usually received by multiple stations. The received data is displayed on the website, associated with the stations that received them.
Our mission is to promote the safety of space flights, the protection of the space environment, and the peaceful use of space globally by sharing space situational awareness information and telemetry with satellite owners/operators, academic institutions, and other entities.
